Avanti

Before the world looked to Greenwich, India looked to Avanti. For centuries, the ancient city of Avanti, now Ujjain, served as India's prime meridian. It was here that astronomers measured time, charted the stars, and built calendars with remarkable precision. Long before IST had a name, this was where India found its reference. Avanti carries that story forward. Built around India's unique GMT +5:30 offset, it displays time exactly as we live it. No rounding. No approximation. Just the timezone of over a billion people, represented the way it deserves. A reminder that not every story of time begins in Greenwich. Some begin much closer to home.

Avarth's Timepieces

At Avarth, we believe a watch should do more than tell time. It should tell a story. Every piece we create is built around a unique complication, designed and refined by hand, so that no two watches feel ordinary. We are proud to be pushing the boundaries of horology in India, constantly experimenting, improving, and inventing new ways for a watch to move, display, and surprise.

A Masterclass in Narrative and Design

The Avarth Avanti is one of the most compelling releases to emerge from the contemporary microbrand space. Rather than relying on generic design cues or homage styling, the watch builds its identity around India’s ancient astronomical prime meridian, Avanti (modern-day Ujjain). The result is a refined everyday timepiece that balances storytelling with clean, functional horology.

Concept is great, but materials used can be improved, especially the bracelet

I am thoroughly enjoying my Avanti watch. My sole observation is that a slight reduction in the length of the lugs would enhance its aesthetic appeal when worn.
