GANDABERUNDA

For centuries, the Gandaberunda has watched over Mysore. A two-headed bird of immeasurable power, so formidable it was believed to be the only creature capable of withstanding its own strength.

It guarded the Wadiyar dynasty, lived on their royal seal, and endured through centuries of history into the Karnataka state emblem it remains today.

Depicted in temple carvings, royal insignia, and stone reliefs across the Mysore kingdom, it was never just a symbol. It was a statement of power that outlasted the kingdom it protected.

Two Heads. One Body.

Each facing a different direction, past and future, tradition and progress, two worlds held together in one unbreakable form.

That duality is built into every part of this watch.

Wrist or Pocket

Time used to be something you kept close. Tucked away, private, pulled out only when you needed it. Then it moved to the wrist, always visible, always present, always on.

Most watches pick one. The Gandaberunda carries both.

A single timepiece that moves between forms, the transition built into the architecture of the watch itself. The same way the symbol it’s named after has always held two natures in one body. Avarth being a Mysore company, this felt quite fitting as our ode to it.

Power in Plain Sight

The dial is skeletonised, revealing everything underneath, every gear, every spring, the full movement working in plain sight. A bird that carries its power openly, and a watch that does the same.

The Gandaberunda is the first watch by an Indian microbrand to carry both forms in one piece.
